I always get excited when peaches are in season because you can make so many delicious things with peaches, including this peach syrup. One thing I love about my peach syrup recipe is that it is extremely easy to make and it only requires 3 ingredients! Not to mention, you can have a rich, fruity syrup that’s far more flavorful than anything you’ll find on store shelves in under 20 minutes. Now I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty amazing to me!

Since making my first batch, I haven’t touched the store-bought bottled kind again. Typically, when you buy peach syrup from stores they are made from artificial flavoring and are often too sweet. When you make peach syrup from scratch in the comfort of your own kitchen, the flavor is fresher, more vibrant, and completely free of artificial aftertastes. This is one of the many reasons I’ll always choose homemade peach syrup over store-bought. Now, let’s make this peach syrup!

Ingredients:

Peach Syrup

  • Peaches

  • Sugar

  • Water

How to make Peach syrup

  1. Wash peaches thoroughly.

    • I think it’s always a good idea to wash your produce.

  2. Slice peaches.

    • This helps the peaches cook faster and release all of their juices.

  3. Combine with sugar and water in a pot.

    • I always aim to have a larger pot than I think I need to prevent the syrup from boiling over.

  4. Cook for 15 minutes.

    • Or until the peaches have released their juices and open up and begin to get mushy.

  5. Cool to room temperature.

    • I like to put my peach syrup in a squeeze bottle for easy serving/use.

Where to use peach syrup

Peach syrup can be used in many different places and ways. Drizzle your peach syrup over pancakes, waffles, or French toast for a fruity twist. Stir into lemonade, iced tea, or sparkling water for a refreshing taste. Or add this homemade peach syrup to your matcha latte for your new favorite flavor!

Notes

  • Make sure to use a large enough pot, it is easy for the mixture to bubble over and that will create a large mess.
  • Stir often to make sure the mixture doesn't bubble over the top.
