Whenever I have tried to use store-bought fruit syrups, especially blueberry syrup, I have always hated the taste of them. They always had the worst artificial flavoring, and it just never sat well with me knowing that they were made with artificial sweeteners. Especially knowing that I could make a blueberry syrup in the comfort of my own kitchen AND having it taste ten times better! Not to mention, you can make this blueberry syrup in 20 minutes, and it only requires 3 ingredients…now you have no excuses! :) Let’s make this blueberry syrup!
Ingredients:
Blueberry Syrup
Blueberries
Sugar
Water
How to make blueberry syrup:
Wash blueberries thoroughly.
I find it always a good idea to wash your fresh produce.
Combine with sugar and water in a pot.
It can be easy to have the blueberry syrup boil over, so I usually aim to have a larger pot than I would think I’d need.
Cook for 15 minutes.
Or until the blueberries have released all of their juices and have begun to get mushy.
Cool to room temperature.
I typically put my homemade syrups into squeeze bottles for easy use.

Notes
- Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
- Make sure to use a large enough pot, it is easy for the mixture to bubble over and that will create a large mess.
- Stir often to make sure the mixture doesn't bubble over the top.
- Make sure to press on the blueberries when straining using a rubber spatula to get as much liquid out as possible.
